Her works harness surreal imagery and mythological symbolism to transmute ephemeral feelings and visions into something tangible.
In her practice, she draws inspiration from occult beliefs, ritual practices, and mythology. Each painting begins as an intuitive feeling or vision, and takes shape slowly and carefully over time in the form of sketches. As the works evolve on the canvas, she treats the process of painting itself as a ritual. Both the works themselves and the process of their becoming create a symbiotic relationship between energetic translation and transmutation. This energetic relationship is what drives Sarah’s work, as it is her belief that even after a painting is finished, the magic continues on.
